Spilanthese/Lemon Drop | Herb Profile

SPILANTHESE, also known as Lemon Drop, Toothache Plant, Eyeball Plant or Electric

Daisies, is a tropical perennial herb in zones 10 and warmer but can be grown as annual.

It rightfully earns the name, Toothache plant. When chewing the flower and leaf it causes a numbing sensation and helps dull pain. It is a salivary stimulant and has a strong effect on the salivary glands which will immediately cause a tingly sensation and cause you to drool.

SPILANTHESE is also known as eyeball plant because of its very interesting button-like yellow bloom with red centers which contrast beautifully against its rich green foliage.
